Roos v Bombers

Over the last couple of years the Bombers have started the season strongly after finishing the previous season poorly – a bad combination for numbers driven tipping.  The opening round in 2104 sees them up against a solid opponent whose ladder position in 2013 does not accurately describe the numbers within the tipping model.  The 2014 model is predicting a sizeable win for the Roos in the opening round:

Although I must admit the Roos seem to be the favourite of the model in recent times but only 70% successful.  The trends are also in favour of the Roos who seem to be breaking out of the region with both for and against shots being similar (and hence a bit of a lottery as to whether they win or not) and seem to be moving into the more wins than losses territory.  The Bombers on the other hand have both trends going the wrong way - an ominous sign for the end of the year predictions?
