2018: top four

The Giants I have positioned at four with the Tigers breathing down their neck.

The sharp downward trend of the Giants offence is the concern and is the source of the anticipated fragility.

Second and Third I have locked in for the Swans and Port with Adelaide my clear favourite for minor premier.

Port I am predicting have broken out of their similar shots for and shots against trend.

Sydney have stronger numbers and hence are predicted to finish second on the ladder.  The cyclic nature of the offence and defence is a concern but compared to the competition I am confident of a top four finish for the Swans and a good crack at the premiership.

The Crows trend is the standout of the competition, despite the alarming uptick in defence and the drift downwards in offence (and their obvious disappointment in the final game of 2017).  The Crows are the only team with a long term Carlo Monty rating in the historical Premiership zone.  More details of this in the next post.

So the final predictions for 2018 are:
Adelaide
Sydney
Port Adelaide
GW Sydney
Western Bulldogs
St Kilda
Richmond
Geelong
Collingwood
Essendon
West Coast
Melbourne
Hawthorn
North Melbourne
Carlton
Fremantle
Gold Coast
Brisbane
